mythbusters

It's time to dispel the myths and rewrite the narrative.

Let’s tackle the misconceptions that have held women back and pursue their career dreams.

(flip the cards to see the facts)

CONSTRUCTION
IS PHYSICALLY
DEMANDING
Construction isn't all about manual labour anymore. With technology, advanced machinery, and off-site methods like prefabrication, the industry is getting safer, more efficient, and sustainable.
CONSTRUCTION
IS LOW PAYING
Construction pays!
For example, electricians in NSW earn $85,746, carpenters earn $99,241, architects earn $97,459, and structural engineers earn $111,108 on average.
In comparison, the average annual salary for a nurse is $65,204 and for a teacher is $67,979.
YOU HAVE TO BE ON
SITE ALL THE TIME
Construction careers go way beyond being on-site all the time. Most of us are only out there once a week or less - think architects, engineers or legal.
Unless you’re in a trade (e.g. carpentry), you will not be doing any physical work when you do go to site – just inspecting progress of the build.
