HELP YOUNG WOMEN EXPERIENCE CONSTRUCTION FIRSTHAND

Host Year 10 students during TWIC’s Work Experience Program and play a direct role in shaping the future of the industry.

By opening your business, site or office to students, you provide a real exposure to the diverse careers available across construction, property, engineering, architecture and design.

Hosting students allows your organisation to:

  • Providing a safe and engaging workplace experience.

  • Introducing students to different teams and disciplines.

  • Offering site visits, shadowing or office exposure.

  • Helping students understand real career opportunities.

faqs?

TWIC SUPPORTS COORDINATION, SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT AND PROGRAM STRUCTURE.

Is there a cost?

  • No, it is free to your company. TWIC will provide you with a free resources pack to help plan your week to be the most effective use of yours and the student time.

What about insurance?

  • The schools will have their own insurance that coves the students whilst on a work experience placement. There will be a 4 week period once you have been connected with your paired student, in which any necessary paperwork can be completed.

Does TWIC provide PPE?

  • No, TWIC is unable to provide each student with PPE. If a site visit occurs, they will need to use host company PPE.

Do students need a White Card?

  • No, students won't require White Cards as they can only be classed as 'Visitors' to an Australian construction site, therefore not requiring a White Card if they are not performing construction work and are strictly escorted or managed under specific safety protocols of SafeWorkNSW.
